“My mother & her siblings were willed property together from my grandmother. When my mother passed away, however, she did not have a will indicating what would happen to her portion of the property and no probate was done in her name because it was assumed she had nothing to probate despite the oral history in our family.

How I was affected? I needed to replace my mother’s name on the deed to the property with a living family member name as not to lose our claim on the property. Now that it has been over 10 years since my mother past, we have had to seek the services of a lawyer to complete her probate and change these documents. A burden that should have been on the original estate but has now fallen to me and my siblings.

Everyone has something worth protecting!! Show your loved ones you do love them…MAKE OUT A WILL‼️”

“Heirs property issues have plagued our vulnerable communities for many years. When there is a question about ownership of real property, property values are diminished. Our neighbors cannot realize the true value of their property, and they cannot pass that value to their children and heirs.”
