    Rosa Grayden

    Chairperson

    Rosa Shaw Grayden, a native of Clemson, SC, from the community of Calhoun. Rosa retired from Clemson University in 2021 with 31 years of service working in the Sociology, Anthropology & Criminal Justice Departments. The granddaughter of George and Roszena Shaw., she serves as Chairman of the board and has always served the community through various organizations in various capacities. Serving the community is very rewarding and her heart’s desire is to give hope and a future to all of our neighbors.

  • Deveraux Williams

    Marketing

    Deveraux T. Williams, a Charleston native and resident of Pendleton, has served as the IT Director in the Division of Marketing & Communications for the past 7 years, a total of 19 years at Clemson.  He also serves as vice chair for the Pendleton Foundation for Black History and Culture and on the board of directors for Clemson Black Alumni Council (CBAC).  He loves to provide service to those in need and is willing to help in the community all the time.

    Board Member - Programming

    Robert is retired. He volunteers at the Clemson Area African American Museum. A member of the sertoma club, he enjoys working with his pottery. Robert is known for his face jugs and many other things. Also a member of the Shaw Center .

    Sandy Smith

    Board Member - Treasurer

    Sandy is a life-long resident of Clemson and currently Executive Director of the Clemson Free Clinic, a local non-profit, providing free healthcare and pharmaceuticals to the uninsured. A Clemson University graduate and retired university employee she is an experienced nurse administrator. She enjoys working with non-profits and supporting the community in providing safety-net organizations.

    Board Member - Marketing

    Lisa Bennett, Ed.S, GCDF is a native of Clemson and an alumna of Clemson University. Lisa is also the founder and CEO of LBC Consulting, an educational consulting firm and writes a curriculum titled G.R.O.W. Time. GROW stands for growth, resilience, optimism, and wealth. A mother of two, she is an educator of all ages of people in the Clemson area and abroad. She is a lifelong learner who has a passion for serving the community.

    Board Member - Programming

    Marcia Barker is a retired educator whose teaching ranged from preschool to middle school. She also served as Clemson University’s First Lady for 14 years. She is active in community service as well as, at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, and is excited about the accomplishments of the Shaw Center.

    Board Member - Secretary

    Debi was Clemson University’s first Hispanic female judge and retired after 30 years of service this past September. She is a single mother of an awesome 28-year-old son who lives in Woodruff, SC. Originally from Miami, she has lived in South Carolina for 34 years and looks forward to continuing her service to the Clemson area by serving on the Shaw Center board.

    Judy Randolph

    Board Member - Programming

    Judy Randolph a life long Clemson resident. She is the mother of three children and grandmother of four. Judy has served on the board of 2 non profit organizations, the Shaw Center & S.M.O.O.O.T.H (Speaking Outwardly Opening Opportunities Toward Healing). That program advocates against Domestic Violence. Her passion is helping people, especially taking care of elderly. Judy would love to see Clemson flourish with more affordable housing/houses in the community for long/life time residents and for the city to stop allowing companies to come into Clemson to build housing for students that is crowding out permanent residents.

    John Fulmer

    Board Member - Finance

    John is retired after nearly 40 years in the financial services industry. Since June 2020, he has worked with several residents to create the Shaw Center. He was elected to Clemson City Council in spring 2021.
